South 9th & Pacific Avenue
In March 1922, in the height of the Hollywood film era, the popular American Players Theater sat on the corner of 9th & Pacific.
Over the years the theater took on many different names including the Majestic, Empress, Regent, and Hippodrome Theaters.
Here the theater is seen being remodeled into a new, modern public market space after being a grand theater that was known as one of the most luxurious vaudeville houses in the country since it was constructed in 1905.
