In the summer of 1925, the manager of the Rialto Theatre arranged for 1,000 Orange Kist vintage sodas to be handed out to the public to celebrate Orange Kist Week from July 31 - August 6th.
A group of school children are seen here showing off their free sodas in front of the Smith Flower Shop located at the iconic Bostwick Building, where you are currently standing.
Kist Soda was created in the 1920’s to give the brewers of beer a product to keep them going during the Prohibition era. After a century in circulation, the vintage soda brand was discontinued in 2009.
