St HELENS

Welcome to St. Helens Avenue in the fall of 1954!

Classic cars lined the streets along this downtown business area, where shops like Trovani’s Jr. Bootery, Don Harting’s Dry Cleaning and Tailoring, and Mousley’s Cantilever Shoes once called home.

The 17-story tall Medical Arts Building was built during the depths of the Depression and over the years has been referred to as the "Spirit of 1931”, paying tribute to the year it was constructed, which was viewed as a significant step in revitalizing the city's central business district.
