Antique row on broadway
Seen here in the spring of 1941, citizens of Tacoma gathered for a huge war bonds sale where they were encouraged to purchase bonds and stamps.
During the sale, the crowds were serenaded by two Fort Lewis bands, the artillery and infantry bands.
Anyone who purchased bonds that day were given bone-rattling rides around downtown on Army jeeps that day.
